As promised, ZenPundit is up with a balanced critique of Mazarr’s article (“Extremism, Terror, and the Future of Conflict,” Policy Review), including links to other blog comments. Worth a look. Much of Mazarr’s thinking is beyond the scope of resilience — but much of it is closely related, given his emphasis on engaging the whole society and all of its resources in order to achieve stability. Therefore ZenPundit’s Tom Barnett reference (“war in the context of everything else”) is apt.
